No reverse lights, one side brake light out

Before I get the tester out, where should I start looking? Is the reverse light problem likly to be a gear box switch or a fuse?? Brake light is probably a blown bulb, will try to have a look this weekend.

I believe all of those light circuits go through the gray plastic connector that sits on the frame rail next to the left rear muffler. Check the connections in the connector there first. The pins could be corroded, heat from the muffler could have done damage, etc. Also just make sure it is pushed all the way together. You can have intermittant problems with those lights if it is loose.

The holes in the female plug on my 3R had widened and where not getting a good connection with the pins on the male connector, managed to close them up with a tiny screwdriver and all good now.

I agree, first place to check is that plug.
Also, with the brake light if you have to get the cluster open, have a good check round all the bulb holders for corrosion. Its amazing how bad they can be while not appearing from the front to have ever had moisture in them.

Paul, how are you getting on with your LED ideas? Dead duck?

Thanks for the info, will try the plug, need to open up the rear of the lights as one of my side lights has been out for some time, does anyone know the part numbers for these bulbs??

As far as the LED lights, I've stood aside for Jetstream as they are much futher on with the project, so we shall see what thay can come up with, from what thay have told me it sounds very good!!
