i was diagnosed with "broad beta disease" today - ultra high cholesteral thinghy due to inability to process sugar.

amazing thing was after many years and doctors all this doc did was look at my palms and see that the creases were thick and golden and diagnosed me!

was v impressive!

Seriously, though, is it curable? Are you always tired (thinking from sugar -> energy thing)?

yep always thought i had diabetes though i had been tested and do not. low carbs and sugar is first step and then drugs if that doesnt work - hoping it will make a world of difference.

annoyingly though it means no beer

My uncle was diagnosed with a acromegaly by his hands - he went to his GP for unrelated reasons and they looked and remarked upon his hands being very large, did some tests couple of weeks later he was having surgery to cut away at his pituitary gland! all well now though.

My dad says when he meets Doctors they are always able to tell he has high cholesterol or something by his eyes.

Bizarre.

Yes, pale/whiteish small pimples on the lower eyelids.

so by cutting out sugar:

cholesteral down from 11.7 to 4.4

triclyciridesthinghies down from 7.1 to 1.1

all from my hands!

Yep they can:
