What mudguards to buy.
Discussion
Ive been wanting some mudguards for my cannondale cad 5 road bike and been told i can only use the very small blade ones. Do these actually keep water from soaking you and is there any others you can get that will keep you quite dry from the water from your tires ?? I was wanting some full lenght ones but got told they wont fit due to the small gaps on moden type bikes. Is this right and what type does anyone else use ??

Excellent guards, bit of a git to set up, and, be careful in the reall wet weather as water does not have a lot of room to dissipate from under the guard, and ends up going back on the wheel. he effect is that your wheel does travel in more surface water then if you rode without them (but then you would be soaked wet through)Mr F
+1 for the Mk2 Cruds
Fitted last week in approx 15 mins
Videos on the Crud website strongly recommended for hints
Agree with the minimal clearance
Mud etc can foul the tyres briefly
Immediately rode in drizzle/rain on poor roads for 4h
Id have never gone out without them
But on the whole very impressed
Cleanish bike and rider

Im hoping they will keep me on the road this winter
Top bit of kit and cheaper than a winter bike!!
Mine arrived this morning, great service from Wiggle, ordered Thursday, shipped yesterday. Also got free Haribos (om nom nom) and a sample energy shake thing. Could've got the guards cheeper on Fleabay but I was ordering other stuff from Wiggle at the time so thought "sod it". Had a quick nosy, they look the part, just need to finish the bike now - should be ready by March
