Well, this time next week scrutineering will be under way for the 2010 Mull Rally. After a difficult event last year there's a new team running it so who is making the trip.

From the British Rally forum some crews are already there making/refining their pacenotes.

Don't have any idea on how all this is going to pan out.

But I think the 2300 committee have been tarred with the wrong brush.

Some VERY astute individuals, on the island, seem to have decided that the TOM does not fit their requirements, and 2300 have become disillusioned.

I think it will be interesting to watch the developments.

I'm connected with both sides so will keep my opinions off the interweb - there are too many already.

The main thing is that the event is happening and it appears will continue to happen....

Cannae make it myself this year, Junior arrived last week and being a day's journey from home isn't in my plan! Shame as we are due a Top 12 position this year (have done every alternate year since 1999!)

I do however have my virtual spectator package set up - Flying Finish, Oban FM, mates roaming the island picking up gossip smile

My money is on Paul MacKinnon to set the early pace, but only just from Calum Duffy. Both will hit problems - I'm guessing Paul will puncture and Calum will suffer terminal electrical issues. James McGillivray will come from a being 3rd after Saturday daylight to take the win!

Top 10 prediction:

1. James McGillivray
2. Paul MacKinnon
3. Dan Harper
4. Willie Bonniwell
5. Hugh Hunter
6. Eddie O'Donnell
7. John Baird
8. John MacCrone
9. Tony Bardy
10. Stepehn Lockhart

Baby Broon is backing Dan Harper, because he has a Mini Cooper just like Mum wink

Cheers Duncan - I'll see how accurate that prediction is and I'll update with what I know but running last on the road you may have seen it in Murmurs first.

Met Doug yesterday, he was here at Salen looking at the house for a rental he's doing soon. www.salenpierhouse.co.uk

Hope all's well with junior - see you next year smile
