Tomorrow I am picking up a friend at Gatwick airport. As its weekend I can go earlier with some time to spare to enjoy nice B roads in the area, if there are any. Would like to hear any suggestions, taking into account that I will be driving from southwest london (SW17) at around lunchtime.

You can come off the M23 at J10A and have a play in the area around Hand Cross, Balcombe, Turner Hill

The entire area boxed by Crawley, Horsham, the A24, the A23
and the A25 is a 40 mph limit area.

Elsewhere, the 40 mph club are profuse and dominant.

Watch out for inattentive foreigners in rental cars
near the airport, too.

The roads to the west are quite pleasent. Head in this general direction:

...but once you're west of the A24, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding something fun.

Anywhere near Handcross, Turners Hill or Balcombe can be fun smile Give me a message next time you're around here.

Thanks guys, I ended up taking too long in london traffic, and therefore had to go straight to the airport redface. I will be going there a few other times, and will be checking those roads!
