hi i have a ssangyong musso 2.9 non turbo diesel 4wd it has a clutch fault , the clutch pedal has gone straight to the floor with no resistance there is no loss off fluid from the resevoir? there was no slipping strange noises etc the gears work fine no problems there any ideas or possible common faults please suggestions much apprecieated thanks joetow ....

ITS A HYDRAULIC CLUTCH SYSTEM NO CABLES CLUTCH WAS PERFECTLY OK PRIOR NO SLIPPING OR STRANGE NOISES ETC HAPPENED AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS THANKS JOETOW ?

Seals gone in the master cylinder? Or the pedal's snapped off

THERE IS SLIGHT MOVEMENT IN PEDAL BUT NOT ENOUGH TO TO RELEASE CLUCH ITS FITTED WITH A IMMOBILISER THAT YOU HAVE TO DEPRESS THE CLUTCH PEDAL TO START THANKS JOETOW ....

Reckon you've got it in one there, FT. Could also be the slave cylinder too though, right?

Joetow, what do you mean when you say that the gears still work? Surely you can't change gear whilst moving if the clutch doesn't work? Or do you just mean that they do still engage with engine off and parked up?

Lots of questions so far.

If it was the slave I'd have expected it to be losing fluid.

Sounds like master/slave seals to me.....is there any improvement if you 'pump' the pedal, on the slim chance their is air in the system.

yes its the beast in the picture as shown the gears work with engine off can be started up in gear & driven so im assumming the clutch has not broken up at all ? there is abt a inch off movement before its hitting the floor but still not enough to allow disegagement off clutch ?

you can if you time the changes / match revs properly!
