High Level brake light on a Griff?

I read in one thread that an Australian Griff, was factory fitted with a "high level" 3rd brake light... presumably mounted on the boot lid...any body seen/have a pic of one?
Having now experienced first hand how close some folk try to get when following the Griff in traffic...and read the thread recently about a Griff being rear ended. I was wondering about the effectiveness and positioning of the old cavalier brake lights.
By modern standards they don't seem very bright and as they're upside down are very low to the ground...In fact it's been mentioned that the average 4x4 driver probably can't even see them over the bonnet if they get close enough...and in slow moving traffic they do!
I'm not too keen on changing the std look of my Griff with "lexus" style lights or simply sticking a Halfrauds type led light on the boot but...
Has any body carried out a mod to brighten the existing brake lights/convert them to LED or fitted an after market High level LED unit that doesn't spoil the look of the car?

I would like to see a close up pic of the "pod" mounted on the boot if possible.
Also I quite like the very dark tint on the Cav lights...how was that applied and does it affect the brightness of lights or are they also modified?

I'm very much leaning towards Davids idea of a Led strip mounted in the gap between the boot lid and tub..might even stop my boot lid from rattling

Excuse the crap photo, it's a very big crop of the high level brake light on my Dad's Chimaera. It used to be on Gaffer's Dad's (TVR Production Manager) Chimaera before a generous punter whose car was back at the factory for a service borrowed it and wrote it off. Gaffer's Dad offered it to me through Gaffer once Dad got the Chimaera and then had it sprayed the right colour at the factory for us. . . RIP, a debt of 2 crates of NBA I can never pay back . . .
Originally supplied to David to test at the factory from the Dutch importers, NiMag (or something similar) . . . It's a Jag item and fit's superbly, looking factory fit, the curves match those of the Chimaera and I considered putting one on mine as it's quite low and just looks right.

Wow This is just what I have been looking for. It does not detract from the look of the car- like it was ment to be there. Is it possible you can post pictures of the unit inside the boot lid? Are there any numbers or ID marks on the light unit itself?Edited by ITVRI on Sunday 3rd October 09:15
I have individual roll hoops behind the seats which i intend to fit the Tuscan Led's to when i get around to it.the other option i was thinking of was putting LED's in the roof struts which would be the most unabtrusive way of doing it.i have even put a large TVR sticker on the back of mine for a time but even that still didn't stop people driving right up the exhausts.i quess its the price you pay for having a nice arxe,well in the Chimaeras case any way !
