Ok FOlks,

Here's the thing, I live in Thailand, got to get over the 350% import duty for something interesting. So, the Vstorm. I can get a GC8 impreza non turbo for about 7K GBP, then change the engine to a turbo for another 1.5K GBP. Then add in the price for the V storm coz i need the logbook from the original impreza ( don't ask, it's too complicated to explain in detail)

I would appreciate some input re this kit. Anyone who has driven, seen, or anything I would appreciate the comments

Thanks

Nick

if using bits from turbo and non turbo compatibility is unlikely-i am getting a murtaya so similar process, you also need to ensure donor parts are of good enough quality!

Hi Nick, you could do a lot worse than the V-Storm, its well engineered, a little different to the 7'esque cars and an overall high quality package. Some fellow pistonheads had a bit of a go in it a few weeks ago and they were very impressed with the car (Noble drivers included.)They posted their views on the site somewhere. Its also been well received by motoring journalists and kit car mags, Vicki Butler Henderson included (Times On Line)

I might add I am not a company employee nor am I getting a bung from Simon (the S in SDR)! I ordered my kit back in January and have just taken delivery of it a few days ago. Simon most impressed me and gave me the confidence to purchase, with his committment to his product, enthusiasian and focus. He doesn't knock the other exo cars on the market which others do, he lets the car speak for itself, above all he is committed to ongoing customer care and support which I undoubtedly need and will utilise as a first time car builder
Speak to Simon at SDR, he is a very approachable guy. If you do as a result of this post just give me a quick mention.

I have set up a build blog (scoobystorm.tumblr.com) which you may wish to look at. It is for a wide audience so I try to keep it light hearted, and a bit tongue in cheek, as well as covering the main aspects of the build.
Lastly all the best with whatever choices you make, above all, enjoy the experience.
