It is. If a bit expensive for a day to day G&T.

In Estonia they have something called 'Red Mixer' to go in vodka, but you can't get it here.

That's the stuff, sort of a combination of peach, angostura bitters and tonic taste wise. It's really nice, certainly very much still available and better than tonic with vodka IMO, couple of nice cocktails out there with it in too.

Schweppes is the only one I can find, but it's fairly easy to get up north, think I've got 12 bottles in the naughty cupboard

fever tree is nice, its run by nice guys too!

check out Battersea Quinine cordial too, if you can find it (probably online) - a quinine syrup which you add soda too to get a Victorian tonic water recipe.

That's the stuff, sort of a combination of peach, angostura bitters and tonic taste wise. It's really nice, certainly very much still available and better than tonic with vodka IMO, couple of nice cocktails out there with it in too.

I like a Vodka and Russchian occassionally It's available in our local Sainsburys, so never thought of it as an endagered mixer species

Not really - I prefer tonic.
Back on topic...I've had the Fever tree stuff - it does have a taste difference but not that great a taste difference ( re cost price) than the Schweppes can.
The more Gin you put in...the less the tonic matters

Some Forces guy in the pub ( ex RAF) told me that his Senior officer had always said that they/he should drink a shot of gin with water first before they carried on with their gin and tonic drinking sessions. Can't remember what the reason behind it was....perhaps someone else was told about it here?

Pink Gin or Martini princilpe,no pinrcilpe,piciinrlpe,bugger ! erm its the up to speed principle,got it ! a couple of Pink Gins get you up to cruising speed and then you can ease off the trottle a bit..haven't had a russian this long while,grand stuff.
