E92 service indicators

Does a light stay on / is something dispalyed in iDrive when you have to service the vehicle?
When I switch on the ignition "Service" blinks up briefly in the centre instrument display. If I scroll through the service menu in this display, or iDrive it indicates that the brake dluid check and the vehicle inspection are due 10/2010 - which is now. However the text in iDrive when you click into these items says "service due soon" and there is a yellow symbol with a triangle in the middle.
So.. as its 10/2010 already why is it saying "due soon"? Do I have to wait till something stays up permanently on the display telling me to take it in??
