Diff bushes

Whilst I wait for the delivery of my new diff bushes can someone tell me the outside diameter of the bushes so I can make a tool to help remove them. Thank you in advance you all so helpful bunch

You'll be a lot easier burning the old ones out.

Heat it until the rubber starts to blaze and then the middle will just fall out.

Then you can cut through the shell with a hacksaw and it'll just tap put.

I had the pressure up to 10 tons on a hydraulic press when I was doing mine and they still wouldn't budge.


Oh, and for the one in the chassis that you can't set on fire an air chisel works a treat.

I drilled out the rubber rather than burning, then the cutting trick worked a treat. I found your average scaffold pole was just the right size for driving the new bush in. I think one side of the new one had a chamfer on that you have to make sure you put it in chamfer first. When I did it the upper was of a different compound to the lowers & had a different coloured spot on it to identify it, I guess they’d still be the same.
