Is there a 'type' of car you favour?

Just replying to the Maserati Gran Turismo boy racer thread and it struck me that I'm actually a big fan of front engined coupes.

Most cars I REALLY like are that format and of the variety I've owned the majority are too.

Much as I 'like' mid-engined sportscars, I really can't imagine owning one (I would make an exception for an F40 if I won big on the lottery) - not just because they tend to be expensive, but because they really don't tickle my fancy the way a front engined GT coupe does.

I don't really get excited by big engined, big saloons either (the M5 or AMG Mercs), although again I can see the virtues of such cars.

So, deep down, I guess I'm a front engined GT person even though I can see the appeal and virtues of many types of cars.

Is there a type of car that you gravitate towards without consciously doing so?

Sleek styling with excellent performance. Proper modern engineering and good reliability also required.

Super saloons and bloated pluto-barges just aren't my thing. I like the kind of cars which Athena can sell on their posters!

I tend to like eccentric sports cars. TVRs, Morgans, Wiesmanns etc. I've always loved their quirks and imperfections, they make the vehicles even more endearing IMHO.

Turbos are alright, I don't like cars you have to wring the neck of though, could never have a VTEC.
