Any good for what? Most are ok at new business processes etc ie taking your money. Try and judge on complaints handling, claims handling and so forth...

Personally I thnk to many people buy on price. I put "brand" before price.

I have now moved all cars and company vans, to a local broker, due to the utter incompetence of the 'internet' insurers. Yes I know I might actually be insured with the same company but get such good service from my local bod I dont mind paying the extra 10% or so.
As said above , so easy to give a card number to these muppets but when it comes to any help or service, might as well piss in the wind

I tried them when I got my Chim a couple of weeks ago, & whilst they weren't the worse quote I got, Mannings were MUCH cheaper.

Just tried them for a quote literally 30 mins ago - apart from the first 'what car do you have so I can better direct you' contact, no-one bothered to pick the phone up after that and although listening to Fleetwood Mac was a pleasant blast-from-the-past, I decided hanging on for 5 mins was sufficient time for them to blow it as far as I'm concerned.

Just re-insured the Chimaera for £626, which for my age, area etc is pretty good in my opinion and also cheaper than last year.

Had requested a quote from the above mentioned 2 days ago and just received their reply.

They would like £2791.

Er ... right.

Are people posting good reviews really gauging their experience only on 'new business' as opposed to claims and complaints? surely not?

Only insured with them because they're cheap.

I jumped to Mannings last year. Quality product from them, and the gent I communicated with (initials LS) seemed to know his stuff and TVRs in general. Recommend.

No we cancelled a policy and i bet Ali Baba would have given me more money back after only 2 months.

Yes that's correct, however it would be a bit difficult to comment on the handling of a claim without actually having made one. Get your point though and will be comparing them to Mannings at renewal time based on positive feedback here.

Give MSM Insurance a ring, they seem good so far, and gave me a great price.

I went on a RideDrive day (which was very good).
One of benefits having done this was 25% discount from Messrs Flux.
But 25% of what? The premium I quoted was laughable.

Went with the broker who sponsored the Back Home /BNG, who have given me a policy via Aviva. The price - let's say 50% of the premium quoted by AF.

And I have taken this matter up with both RideDrive (who may suffer if this sort of thing goes on) and AF - awaiting to see what they have to say for themselves.

Are AF any good? Looks like for myself and a good number of respondents we are never going to find out, as they won't get anywhere close to a reasonable premium?
