Im having a look at a diesel classic tomorow to run along side my v8. I know about all the usual things to look out for with the classics but is there anything specific to look at with the diesel engine itself?

I can't give you advice, but what diesel engine? Is it a transplant?

Not that i'm helping drinkFrom what I've read, sometimes Classic Rangies are given donor engines.
Somebody with knowledge will give you some useful information.

Classic RR had 4 different diesel engines as stock iirc

-2.4 VM
-2.5 VM
-200Tdi
-300Tdi

The Tdi's are the same as any Disco with them. Just check it runs ok they should be no probs other wise.

Had a look at it today. Its an early 80's one so the engine has been transplanted. It was a brand new 300tdi put in 6 years ago. Its only done 18k on the engine with recipts to prove.

As its earlier then mine and not the same is there anything else to look out for? Also are the seats/doorcards interchangeable?
