Rainy Sunday! What's happening in your garage?

Just bought another Mini Cooper with a low mileage SPi engine. Currently trying to paint the engine with the rain bouncing off the driveway.
Due to pick the rest of the car up today, it's in bits but I can't resist a bargain!
The engine will eventually end up in my track Mini which currently runs a standard Sprite engine (50ish BHP). Still need to fit my Safety Devices cage and fit a pair of Cobra Suzuka seats (which I can't seem to find anywhere).
I should be out there now working on it but it's much nicer here in the warm surfin' the net!

Well, I'm feeling awful today so nothing. Yesterday though I resoldered a bust connection in one of the Elan's key fobs then attempted to change the crank position sensor on the Mondeo and failed. Discovered that Haynes are liars. Even with the airbox removed there is no way you can get to that without the aid of a double jointed anorexic.
Then I noticed the intake pipe had a massive split in it right by the turbo (had been feeling a bit flat the past week or so). Joy. Trimmed it back but the pipe narrows just there so now it won't attach. Of course this happened at 12:45. The parts desk at the Ford dealer closes at 12:30 so now I need to wait until tomorrow.

Today, I've been rubbing down some wheels. The original alloys on the Mustang were a bit grubby. Lifting lacquer, oxidised. So stripping back the top coat, and sanding them down ready for a coat of silver.
Previously, bought a set of 05 alloys to use either permanently, or temporarily, until I get the originals ready. Not decided yet.
Also previously, I simply had to have a more fruity exhaust. The standard V8 sound was OK, bit it could be better. And with a set of Flowmaster cat-backs, it is. These clips don't do it justice. It's a little fruitier IRL.

I've also put gold letter bumper inserts on, and painted the front pony gold.
Still a couple of wheels left to rub down and the spraying to do.
Got a few service jobs to do - back brake pads. Gbox oil and filter. Plugs/leads. Aux belt.
Looking forward to more rain. Garage nights are fantastic.
