Just flicking through my Picasa album and found these photos of a trip from Lymington to Poole we did a while ago in our RIB. It's making me very sad as I've just accepted an offer on the boat subject to sea trial and it's going to be very difficult to part with. frown My dad and I built it ourselves over the course of a month last year but it's not getting used much and I could do with the money for other things.

Very sad times but it's nice to look back on the fun and happy memories it has give us. I hope you enjoy the photos...

The boat, at anchor, with my brother in my kayak (aka - the tender)

My brother, enjoying himself!

Not going to end well!

There's someone in the water!

Me!

Plenty of nice houses in Sandbanks - the best place to view them from!

My girlfriend and I acknowledging the other boaters with the internationally recognised thumbs up!

Time to clean it off

Lots more photos here if you're interested... http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/danyeates5/PooleJune...

Very good units. iPod control is easy and reliable. They have various adaptors to fit different iPods and hold them secure. I find my iPhone fits into the iPod classic holder with the case on so that's good. Powerful and very easy to use with their big buttons and display.

I sell them so give me a shout if you want a price for one smile I work in the marine trade.

Just dropped one of these into the Sunseeker and have to say it's very good. Packs your iphone away and charges it up, ringing comes through the speakers so you don't miss a call and charges it up too.

It's sitting there now with a fully loaded 160gb ipod in it so anything on call when wanted.

OP were your pics taken near Rockley Sands and also south of Brownsea? Also, roughly speaking what does a boat like that cost?

Photos were taken in the ski zone near Wareham channel, opposite Rockley, yeah. Some near brownsea, Some were taken in Lymington where we keep the boat.

Boat like mine would start at about £31,000, mine would have been about £35,000 new. I've taken a deposit on it for a bargain price of about £27,000. Could get them cheaper with the F115 engine, mines the F150.

Yeah thanks no rush smile.....just curious at the price for your boat, what are the benefits of a rib over a standard fibre glass hull?

Sea state wise, what will it handle?

It will handle most things you're going to see on your average day out. I've been to Poole and had a lovely day over there, only to find the weather's changed and it's blowing a gale out to sea from the west, which makes heading back to Lymington interesting. Lots of on/off throttle up and down the waves. Takes a lot of concentration but it will handle some pretty big waves. The boat is literally pointing up at the sky one second and then down at the sea the next!

A boat like mine would be about £29,000 to £35,000 new. The spec like mine would be £35k. I have it advertised at £27,000 and have a sea trial on her on Sunday. frown Sad times.

The main benefits over a full GRP boat are the tubes absorb the impact of the waves when travelling at speed so you don't get a big bang when you land, they also provide a lot of buoyancy, they're light and very stable. The downside is you lose internal space and comfort that a sportsboat will give you I suppose. My dad has always had sportsboats and hated the idea of RIB's...... until I got him out in one! Now he wouldn't have anything else.
