Issue With Door

Anyone had the door just open by its self, yesterday the driver door just kept popping open when driving? any ideas why this would happen.

i had a similar problem recently turned out to be the contact behind the dash button was making contact constantly. took apart and placed few more washers in.

I had the same problem on my Tuscan. It was the door ecu that was the problem. I bought a second hand one from the breakers and problem solved. You can also get them refurbished, contact Paul Smith [e-mail] costs about £50.

Try swapping the door ecu's over to see if the problem occurs on the other door. Also check the fuse and try swapping the relays to see if this is where the problem lies.

Ensure red handles, there are two for the drivers side (email me if you don't know where the second is) are fully depressed. Mine had a habbit of doing this and I traced it to the door release not being pushed back fully. Pull & push handle to the max on both travel points.

If its not this then the other posts about the door latch mechanism & ECU are your next port of call.

Yep had this problem. The problem was found to be the driver door ECU situated in the drivers footwell. It had to be sent away for reconditioning. In the mean time swapped the passenger door ECU which ment I could not use the passenger door or boot.

Handles in correct position, swapped over door ECU and door still popps open on drivers door, however I did notice when the key is in the ignition and key turned the door on drivers side popps open as soon as key is turned.

does it do it on the move? if not have a look at my earlier post, tried everything that had been mentioned and it turned out to be an easy fix.
