Hi there,

I just wanted to let everyone who knew Richard Carr, and who chatted to him over the years under the user names above, and probably other names, that he passed away last month with a brain tumour.
He had been talking about his battle with it on this site and he fought it bravely for 2and a half years and died at the age of 28.
I know that he loved this site and he got to chat to a lot of regulars on here. He did like to make his point of view known and did mention his Fiancee a lot, which is me.
He loved cars and studied at coventry uni doing car design, loughborough doing product design and he drove down from scotland just to see me and i live in Essex. This is just a tribute to all who knew him. To me he was a kind, loyal, affectionate guy, who put me first all the time and i miss him terribly.

Tanya, thoughts are with you and his family. Richard or Absolutely as I came across him as, RIP.

People come and go so much on these forums that you often lose track of them. It's been sometime since he posted but I remember him to be a decent, forthright, level headed (if contentious!) poster who couldn't wait to have his license back and get behind the wheel again.

I never realised that his illness was as serious as this, I guess that was down to his optimistic attitude of when I get my license back.

He was clearly a dedicated partner and decent chap. The world will be a worse place without people like him.

Thank you for all your kind words.
I have mixed emotions about this, my Fiancé Richard Heinicke-Carr applied for a Job with Team Lotus, who i'm sure you guys know they have bought Caterham company. He applied before he got ill and sent his designs to them, they accepted him in, but he got too ill with a brain tumour.
Well i've just seen the new car SP/300.R they have made and it looks just like Richard's design, but he hasnt been given any credit. Even the write up sounds like what he put in his graduation booklet about his research. I can't find any original drawings online of this car and i'm assuming it's because they have used Richard's design and can't show where they got it from.
I'm sure he would have been very proud that they used his design, and have hardly changed it though.
