Danny's new Saxo VTS
Discussion
I bought this today after selling my SRi on thursday. The car feels so much more like a car which i love
You can actually feel the road and although i've only driven it in the wet the car is so much more responsive
I am so far very happy with my purchase.
- Full SuperSprint decat race exhaust
- K&N GenII Induction
- Ported and Polished Throttle Body
- Powerflex lower engine mount
- Twin fans (2nd wired to an independant switch)
- Lowered 50mm on Eibach Sportlines
- 283mm 307 HDi brakes.
- 15" Speedline Chrono's in Anthracite with 4x Toyo T1-R's All good tread (1000miles max).
- De-locked
- De-badged
- De-wipered
- Boot catch smoothed and boot popper fitted
- Rear tow-eye smoothed
- Full INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR respray in the original Quartz Silver (EYC shade 3). This included inner wings and wheel arches.
- Underside and arches fully undersealed and wax-oiled (using the gun).
- Rear Strut bar (welded)
- Corbeau Clubman bucket seats on welded seat bars.
- 4-Point LUKE harnesses (black)
- OMP stregth plates for harnesses
- FULLY stripped (no leaks)
- Polished rockers
- 1.1i badges
- All brake calipers and rear disc guards sprayed the same silver as the rest of the car.
- Hornet CAT1 Alarm (inc. all paperwork)
- Carbon Fibre DoorCards
- OMP Corrsica Steering Wheel
- Upper Strut Brace
- Mb Quartz Front Comps
- Car Comes With Lots Of Std Parts And Extras
- Spare Speedline Chrono
There are a few things i don't like though, the harness digs into my neck
and i don't think the stripped interior will last long - Gti leather time to come me thinks.
I can see this being a car i will hopefully keep for a while
It's been much loved by a previous owner who completely resprayed it inside and out and gave it a full rust proofing so the body work is exceptional
It has been lowered 50mm ish and has a full supersprint exhaust which sounds amazing!
I'll hopefully take some pics of my own when i get chance, but these are some of the many i've nicked off the previous owner.

Haters gonna hate, but i know i made the right choice

Looks good mate, have thought about one of these as a daily but have always turned to Clio 172's. The Saxos look good value compared to 106 gti's.
Yeah i did a quote on a ClioSport and they wanted £800 extra on top of my premium
Seen as i'm 18 this was the best i could get imo!I don't know if you saw my thread on the 106's, its a shame one in this condition would be worth about a grand more than the saxo!

Very nice, the PH1 is definately better looking than the PH2 and it looks good on those wheels. I had a 106 and they're fantastic handling little cars, I keep thinking about getting a saxo as a weekend runaround/track car but then remember I have no money!!
Looks a good example if you check the specialist marque forums saxo sports club, 106owners etc you may get lucky and find someone willing to swap their leather for your bucket seats/harnesses.

Lol! Erm the handling feels very good but i'm used to bad handling Vauxhalls! So it will do Looks a good example if you check the specialist marque forums saxo sports club, 106owners etc you may get lucky and find someone willing to swap their leather for your bucket seats/harnesses.

I don't know after driving to work this morning it felt special having a stripped interior hearing the exhaust roar

I have signed up to both owners clubs already, but good idea on that!

Looks tidy, I loved driving my 106 around when the interior was stripped out. Very underestimated little cars - Just a shame about the image they have.

Looks fresh in silver. At least with a saxo it will only take 20 minutes to re fit an interior.

So how much is your insurance as I've got a 1.1 citroen C2 and I'm 18 and I think the insurance is too much for a 1.1.
Thanks for all the good comments guys
Insurance is expensive but the cars worth it, of course i am only TPF+T
I was out with a friend who has a Astra VXR last night and i have to say, there wasn't a lot in it ! The little Citroen did well to say it has roughly half the power

A couple more pics to keep the thread alive

I did the brake fluid and engine oil top ups the other night, getting squeaky brakes sometimes under light braking but all my pads are mighty meaty. Will have to look into this.
And i've also noticed that the rear axle is on the way out, common fault with the 106/Saxo
Still in love with it though!
