Price comparison websites - utilities
Discussion
As times are hard, I could do with cutting back on some household expenses, and going through the price comparsion websites, it looks like there are some useful savings to be made. However, are you better off using these sites, or going direct to the provider of choice and seeing if there are even better deals to be had? I assume that they get a cut from the supplier from every punter that signs up through them to switch?
Just watch that not all the comparison websites show all the deals, as some suppliers refuse to pay to be listed.
On which does is www.communitysave.co.uk, this is a useful fundraiser too. (If you use this please use MMC as the referrer).
If you find that your existing supplier is the best deal, then phone the number on your bill and say that you want to change, most are happy to do this and it saves you the 6 week or so wait before the better tarrifs kick in.
I hope this helps!
