Quite a few people, including a number of dealers are stating that the AJPV8 is no longer going to be 'bettered' and there are no future innovations planned for the AJP V8 engine range?

So TVR are heading the german route of sticking to straight 6's???

Whats up with them... the V8 grunt dissapeared with the last Griffith, and now the AJPV8?

I hope that the plan of getting rid of V8's in their engine lineup is a way of making room for some V10...

I hope this is not the case, but IMHO the good ol' RV8 typifies TVR. As spine tingling as the other engines sound, there aint no substitute for that rumble

i hope after the motor show tvr has the model line up in place for the next x years and ajp8 or not starts to concentrate their efforts towards improving fit and finish,speed 6 reliability and after sales service.

i know its exciting that tvr always has a shock in store at the motor show but i would rather they concentrated their efforts and spent time on the things above.just my thoughts

Forgive me if im wrong, but isnt the AJP V8 TVRs 'own' engine and the RV8 the 'old' Rover lump that was replaced by the AJP?

So if TVR ditch thier V8 there will be no more new V8 TVR's only the S6

I think this was the way PH intended to go for a long time. Straight sixes are the classic brit sportscar engine and I guess he wants to continue that. Personally I think it leaves a gap in the lineup that could be filled with an LS1 engined ragtop from hell to continue the Griffith lineage

Can't say to much here but I heard they had looked at the Chevy ls1 but this was before it was fully in production so they had no idea of costs. I reckon they will use it but maybe their problem is how to stamp their own identity on the GM product. I know of other manufacturers who will be using this engine soon, just wait a while

The straight 6`s sound pretty good (when revved) but I notice that many owners bolt on after market exhausts to get more sound - it still doesn`t quite get there though does it?!!

TVRs are V8`s are TVRs.

The TVR Straight sixes don't even sound like a proper straight six.

Listen to a TR6 and see which you prefer.
