Auto to Manual licence conversion
Discussion
I have tried to find info about this on the DVLA website but can find anything.
The wife has an auto licence and wants to upgrade to a manual but is not sure whats involved. She converted her licence from a Canadian licence about 3 years ago.
Is it a hard thing to do? If you have done it did you need to take lessons and was the test like a full test or just a conversion test.
Cheers

I used to work as an examiner for DSA. I remember a very similar scenario (Canadian licence upgrade) happening at the office where I worked. The candidate had exchanged an automatic Canadian licence for a British one, but had later decided he wanted a manual licence. He did not need to take the theory test.
The practical exam will be a normal manual test. Contact DSA for more detail. They are not quick; don't hold your breath.
