Curiosity Regarding Octavia Taxis

Just a quick curiosity really.

Does anyone know what year the MK1 Octavia went out of production?

I'm seeing an increasing number of MK1 Octavia Taxis (all purporting to be from "The Taxi Centre" On 08/58 and seen one on an 09 plate.

I thought these were replaced by the facelifted version around 2005/6?

The taxi firms moaned enough that Skoda kept supplying MK1s in base spec as Taxis for a few years after the MK2 launched.
