Evening all,

Since Friday my nearside front indicator on the Focus has started being rather daft. It will work fine for a period, then randomly stop working whilst driving. Side repeater and rear work fine, all offside indicators work fine. Then after being parked up for long periods it'll start working again, only to go off again later on (after a period of driving...).

Has anybody experienced anything like this before? Coincidentally the problem only started happening after a massive downpour on Friday, so could water ingress cause such an issue? There's no issues with the sidelight or dipped/main beam on the nearside, only the indicator.

I'm going to take the unit out tomorrow and fiddle about with the bulb and see if that sorts it, but other than that I'm at a loss. I presume it can't be a fuse if it's only the front nearside indicator?

Cheers!

Sounds like a loose connection or more probably a dirty contact on the bulb fitting where water has got in.

Make sure the wires are all tight in the holder.

Try cleaning the bulb holder contacts with a bit of wet & dry & same with the bulb. If you cant get into the bulb holder with it then a scrape with a screwdriver to make a good contact.
