hi everyone i have just brought a MCS on friday and am really pleased with it smile its an 05 plate and immaculate. Only thing is it has runflat tyres. Im ok with this i think ill change to normal tyres when they wear out but they are practically brand new. What happens if you get a puncture with a runflat tyre because you dont have a spare wheel. i know you can drive a certain distance with them but what if you have a complete blow out i feel a bit vulnerable. x

You can have a blow out on a normal tyre, trust me !!

ETA Lotus cars do not have a spare tyre. Enjoy your new car.

If you get a puncture you drive at 50mph Max until you can the tyre replaced or repaired.

If you get a full on blow out it doesnt matter what tyre type you are running you will need recovery service.

I've got a MCS with non-runflats. I have a can of tyre weld and an air compressor in the boot to deal with my punctures.

If a runflat or normal tyre are badly damiged you will not be able drive with them. The runflat will only work when a normal tyer and a can of tyre squerty wont in only a small number of situations. A number of new cars (Vaxhall zafera etc) now come with no spare and on normal tyres.
