Hi all,

My girlfriend cooked me an amazing meal last weekend, so now I need to do something equally impressive. I am fully capable of getting a recipe off the internet and following it, but need ideas for what recipes to search for as there are too many to look through. there isn't a food stuff she doesn't eat, although pasta she find boring.. I was thinking of doing something posh with chicken breast - any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Make a chicken Wellington, with chicken liver pate and shop bought puff pastry. Pair it with some green vegetables.

Much easier than she'll guess.

Heres your pre dinner nibbles or even starter

Avocado and Green Pea Hummus(Kermit Poo)

1 ripe avocado
2 x 15ml lime juice
1/2 clove of garlic
1 teaspoon of maldon salt/i/2 teaspoon of table salt
1 x 300g Marrow Fat Mushy Peas
About 8 pumpernickle slices

spoon out the flesh of the avocado into a processor, add the lime juice and crushed garlic, add the salt and drained peas and puree into kermit poo, spread onto little pumpernickel squares.
if you want to use it as a dip add a couple of teaspoons of philadelphia cream cheese when you puree the mix, serve with corn chips or crudites

I find that the best way to impress is with seafood - the simpler the better!

Pork or chicken fillets, smashed flat and then sprinkled with Thyme, Mozarella and either Mortadella or parma ham depending on what you fancy. Seasoning and some olive oil.

Roll up; stake or tie and fry off quickly. Finish in the over and serve on some green beans as above with deglazed pan juices (white wine and lemon juice should be enough).

SLice into pretty slices and she will love 'em.

How impressive was her meal? I mean what do you have to live up to, did she microwave a perfect curry or did she serve something that Heston would be proud of. To be honest most women would be impressed by a well cooked meal by a guy regardless of how "posh" it is.

You say she likes chicken, does she like spices as well? How about a Jambalaya, I cooked my first two last weekend and it was great
