Just a quick update on the going's on at this years Britcar 24hr.

Things started very well for the BPM Seat leon Supercopa, all the drivers showed some great pace in testing and translated it into a class pole....by 4 seconds! Rob's blistering 2.06 round the Silverstone GP circuit saw us 20th overall from 60 and 1st in class 4.
The speed continued into the night qualifying with us again posting the fastest class time and lighting up the 1st timing screen as the 14th fastest car overall.

As raceday arrived, we started well and maintained our position until nightfall. The team once again pulled off some magic with a searingly fast repair from a crash with a BMW during Ash's stint but around 25 minutes into my outing the engine stopped and I ground to a halt at the back end of the circuit. The rain was already heavy but as it hammered down just after midnight it looks like wet electrics may well have been our downfall. The guys worked valliantly to get it fixed, but to no avail forcing us to retire just after midnight.

So, a sad and soggy end after so much promise but many positives to take with us to the next round at Donington Park. BPM will be back!!

Massive thanks to Rob and Greg for coming to drive with us and big thanks also to Joust, Worty, Jenks, Matt172 et al for all your help and support!

O.

Ash was obviously distracted by events earlier in the day

Just sorting through some of the 1200 pics taken. I'll add some more here later. There are already some low res shots on the Britcar forum here.

Nice to see everyone again

sorry to hear about your bad luck, always frustrating. sounds like you guys were flying before then!!!

were you guys racing at croft a couple of weeks back? there was definitely two Seats there, one yellow and i'm sure the other was red!

I'm racing on the Silverstone (Historic bridge) GP circuit in a few weeks, can't wait!

Owen,

Keep up the goodwork. Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

That CD you sent me, showing you driving down to Le Mans got worn out!
My two youngsters loved it so much.

Any chance you could send another, alternatively post up the famous Noble running start at Mulsanne? Some of the newbies on here might not have seen it. Can't have that!

Anyway good luck with the racing and stay safe.

Chris.
