Bonnet vent recommendations
Discussion
Hi,
With my MX5 being turbocharged there's quite a lot of underbonnet heat being generated and in an effort to keep temperatures down I'm looking to fit a vent above the turbo.
Most of the sites I've come across are daft fake ones, or eBay tat; does anyone have any recommendations where I can get something subtle and of reasonable quality?
Cheers,
Chris

As mentioned in the other thread, I have these.

Other folk have gone with these

Both of these would mean you don't have to mess about cutting the bonnet & getting a vent fitted.
Also, it has been suggested that removing the rubber from plenum area (where the wiper motor sits) aids airflow out of the engine bay.

Cheers Mark.
I've already got the turn signal intakes; not convinced they do much, but they do look good.
The eyelid intakae will help get some additional air to the filter, but not much else.
I'm trying to shed heat, not take more air into the engine bay, it's something akin to the RS Cosworth vents that I'm after, just to have sat above the turbo so that the heat can rise straight up and out.

google pics of the current btcc Chevy Cruze, thats the sort of vent id use. Its a bank of bigger louvres, but essentially like the common cossie 4x4 style. airflow over the bonnet will draw heat out nicely, will be zero drag penalty and shouldnt whistle like a train at motorway speeds lol
Will work at standstill to reduce heatsoak too although the rain will get in so worth checking that the rain wont drop onto an area that will cause electrical issue.
Some of the cossie/subaru vents have a baffle underneath to stop water ingress but it does tend to reduce the effectiveness dramatically
