There is Alba Transport in Hildenborough which is where I get my Tuscan done. Really good bunch although if you are looking to get a ticket at any cost, they will be no good as they are very straight.

They're very good so worth a try, look after some very nice cars there. Sound won't cause a fail on an MOT by the way. They can't get into the bonnet on mine to check the engine stuff so have a peek from underneath!

Yep, I asked the guy about noise and he says no one will do it as the DVLA expect the MOT stations to buy the equipment themselves and the testers say no. They tried the same about tinted windows but they won't do that either. Your car can therefore sound like concorde and it will still get and MOT!

On cats, he said he does a number of cars without, Cobras and all sorts. You can if you like put them on for the test and then take them off again. Otherwise just run it hot and it should be fine.

Technically that is not true, the MOT handbook states the system should not be significantly louder than a standard system of a fitted to a similar model and aged car, now that's open to opinion but very loud the tester could still get problems if he passes a very loud car.

The traffic police also told me similar last month, that's why I'm running in stealth mode for a little while, I do really miss the noise though.
