RR Silver shudder

I cant be the only person that thinks a RR silver shudder is a good buy, enough being broken for spares to make running one of these a possibility?

A911DOM just paid £1300 for a inlet manifold fix on a Espace, see his rant, you can buy a gearbox for a Silver Shudder for £1500, its not so bad. Admitedly it might not be an easy car to work on and its monstrously complex.

Now, where did I leave my 3/4 length sheepsking coat....

The gearbox is a GM bit

As always with anything low volume, buy a good one and keep it that way and you'll understand why they were so popular when new, buy a bad one and the bills will make Espace manifold problems look cheap!

I've seen dozens where the absolute bare minimum has been done to turn a bad car into a superficialy nice one (from 20 yards)including watching a bodyshop patch the rear arches with filler and then two tone the paint to blend it all together . . . he'd done this so often for a "specialist" that he joked, he could do it blindfolded and couldn’t remember ever being told to repair them properly!

Like a lot of other cars of this period, prices are firm / rising for good cars
