"Fifteen years time when he looks at what a ruin his life has become he is going to remember Edward Rooney."

The irony was that in fifteen years time from those immortal words, the actor who played Mr Rooney was convicted for taking indecent photos of a minor, lost his family and has hardly worked since. He recently got community service for moving without informing the police because he is on the sex offenders register.

Mr Rooney ended up being his most famous role.

Wow, never knew that. He was one of my fave comedy actors from that period. I actually thought he was dead.

Caught this film on E4+1 last night, first time I had seen it the whole way through, but had seen the middle bit once before.

I truly adored it. Amongst the best films i've ever seen! So funny and utterly charming, what a fantastic piece of cinema.
And Ferris' girlfriend is fking hot...

best film ever to use a Pontiac fiero. And the best line goes to the school PA:

"...Oh he's very popular, Ed. The Sportos, Motorheads, Geeks, Sluts, Bloods, Wastoids, Dweebies, dheads. They all adore him. They think he's a righteous dude...."

Then I would strongly suggest you check out TimeCop...

But it is one of the finest films ever made. But the older I get the sadder it makes me, to be that young, that free.

"Well with your bad knee you shouldn't throw anyone............ it's true,"
"So that's how it is in their family,"
"I'm so disappointed in Cameron. $20 says he's sitting in his car right now wondering weather to come over,"
"He'll keep calling me, he'll keep calling me, fk it, I'll go, I'll go, I'll go,"
"A man with his priorites so far out of whack does not deserve such a fine automobile,"
"Don't worry, we'll take care of it, we're professionals,"
"Drugs?"
"What's cooking?........ no don't get up........dinners ready,"

And what a soundtrack. Genius. Pure joyous genius.

Way ahead of you brother! Quite a fan of Van Damme films as well, but Ferris is so much more.

And you are right about the soundtrack.

Ohhhhh yeahhhhhhhhh

oh yes forgot about this great movie, you can see where they got some ideas for LOTR, those scenes with Tim Curry are brilliant
