Spa 2011 - Where to sit with kids ?
Discussion
Hi
We are off to Spa for the Belgian Grand Prix next year and am debating what grandstand to book.
I'm erring towards either Gold 3 (Eau Rouge), Gold 6 (the chicane) or Gold 8 (la source) - Map here http://www.belgium-grand-prix.com/EF1/en/TICKETS/
This will be the first GP I've been to and am also taking my two daughters (15 & 16), neither of whom are particularly into GP but want to come for the experience. So I'm thinking that it would be good to sit by the chicane or la source in order to get the best overtaking opportunities. But then I think that Eau Rouge would give them the best 'action' view of the cars at speed, but obviously no overtaking.
So where would you sit ?

Hi,
When I went in 2007 I was at Eau Rouge and it was brilliant. Downside was the seats of the grandstand aren't steep enough so unless you're in the front row, you just saw the engine cover and engine air feed cover. Sound was amazing at full chat however. The best position we saw was at the bottom of Eau Rouge by the railings. You can see the cars coming from La Source and turn your head as they pass you at full chat goiing up Eau Rouge. You can only get to this with Eau Rouge Grandstand tickets. Cracking spot but seemed a shame to pay for grandstand and not sit in it for the race.
If I went again I would consider either Gold 7 at the exit of La Source or Gold 6 Chicane. At least at the Chicane you can see across to the start/finish straight and you see straight over the track to Eau Rouge anyhow. Best of all worlds in reality.

I hope this helps.
