There was an awsome DH run there years ago when I was still racing.
The hill with the mast on it......left hand side over the bridge in Ballater. Push straight up....there is a fire road you could XC round........I remember it been steep and technical!! This was an unofficial run.

And the other side of Ballater is Moron (spelling) Good single track fun there also.

Petfecie or scolty are probably the best "local" rides to Aberdeen.

Best thing would be get the XC rig out and explore!!

Around the mast is good aswell, MBR did a pull out maps for that a few years ago, havent ridden it for many a year., short but fun.

Bigger would be, Loch Muick?! start at carpark, ride around east side, hop over into Glen Clova ride upto Bachnagairn the up over the ride past the bothy then down ride back around the loch to car park.
If the forecast is OK and your feeling fit and have 6 hours, Lochnagar coming down the waterfall is about as big as it gets.
Glenbuchat, ride around the tops of the valley?
