Something that was mentioned else where and I just thought it would be easier to ask here than go home and open my garage door!
Do 993 turbo's have Litronic head lights fitted as standard? My turbo has the beam adjuster and I'm 100% sure the manual says Litronic:turbo cars only?

Can anyone shine any light on this?

Thanks

Alan

No they are not fitted as standard. Litronics were only fitted as standard on the 996 turbo. I think I have read in 911 & PW that there is a kit available for retrofitting to 993s though.

Optional, yup.

To be honest, however, I tend to find headlamps of whatever luminance a very real hinderance to my usual form of illumionative guidance, namely, The Force.

Lamps on my P are feeble after driving the Audi with Litronics.

Love going up behind fast lane hogs and giving them a full beam blast.....they move over sharpish as their silhouette appears on hills in the distance!

If you mean the 3 position beam adjuster, every993one gets that.

You can retrofit Porsche parts @ £1200 +, alternatively do an Autolamps or 9M HID conversion on dipped beam for £400 ish - they work well and are great bang for the buck. Technically illegal as they don't auto-level TTBoMK.

I had to pull a headlight out last night to check - bulb starting back at me.

Tonight i'm pulling a turbo off to make sure it's got blades inside and is not just a whistle!

Thanks

You can easily tell if its got the litronics, as when you turn on the dipped beam there will be a slight delay before the lights come on, the beam is also quite a lot 'whiter' than normal bulbs.

Its only on dipped beam, the main beams are pretty much just as woefull & glow worm like as all older 911 headlights. Hence the popularity of aftermarket H.I.D kits etc.

No need to keep your eyes open when using the force, have faith.
