Can't make my mind up. Is the car forgiving; or is it a handful?

Driver looks hard at work at times. Gathers speed well though.

Looks like great fun anyway. Unless you are hell bent on doing a record lap nothing else matters.

Stuart Mills is one of my heros. He keeps creating diamond quality kits that have massive appeal in terms of cost versus performance. Still recon a 125 or 250 gearbox kart is the cheapest way of really cacking yourself though. Driven some pretty raw cars but thats where it's at.

I agree, though after being taken out in a Fisher Fury R1 last weekend.. I think that was more eye opening than the 125 ICC gearbox kart I used to race. Quite pleased I got out of the Fury alive.

So, of course, I put a deposit down biggrin

Mev does look good fun though and to be fair the track looks pretty darn greasy. Refreshing to see more of these type cars, instead of the traditional sevens too. The market is saturated.

2nd gear is knackered, he is having to hold it in and steer one handed.

Following a little investigation, I've found out that 2nd gear wasn't knackered, but your correct the driver was experiencing difficulty in holding 2nd gear. This was simply rectified by adjusting the gear selector cable.

The driver also reported that there was insufficient bias towards the rear brakes and thus there was more to be had, as the day progressed, driver familiarity kicked in and the car was adjusted accordingly the lap times dropped further.

Unfortunately this is the only video footage released, so far Grrrr

Hi everyone, I was delighted to hear the comments made by this well experienced driver as he got out. "it just does not handle how these type of cars normally do" he said, when questioned as to what he meant he said he "he expected it to be tail heavy and it was not, it is well balanced". He did keep on pushing it after we had done a few tweaks but after the cameras had been fitted to another car.
Rocket has a bias bar for the brakes so it was easy to get them to his liking.
The gear cable was also adjusted to keep it engaged. It was set too far north.
It was "track driver" magazine's day so those that receive the next magazine will have an intersting read of the comparisons with cars there on the day. One had a 500 bhp bike v8 in an exo style car. I suspect you could build an awful lot of Rockets for the same money as that engine alone though! Regards Stiggy
