hi guys,

My 3000s is actually fitted with Firestone Potenza (185/70/14) on the original T slot wheels. As the car is used for fast road/classic TSD rally, I wish to swap the tyres (but keep the T slots). Considering Toyo Proxes T1R (888 model doesn't seems a good idea for potential wet conditions) in 195/50/14.
Any advices about brand, model and sizes?

thanks,

christian

Christian,
do you mean Bridgestone Potenza or a Firestone tire?
What model?
Are you OK with tires that wear quickly?
Also, are you flexible on the size/profile?

The ones listed below are what I've read good reviews on.

Bridgestone Potenza RE730
Falken Azenis Sport
Falken GRB FK451
Firestone SZ50
Kumho Ecsta Supra
Sumitomo HTR+4
Sumitomo HTR Z II
Ventus H405
Yokohama AVS Sport

Sorry, wrong spell : my actual tires are Firestone Venturas.

Have noticed this week end (been doing some track runs at Paul Ricard circuit for the first edition of '10.000 tours". Some pics and soon vids here: http://www.teamtvrrr.com/ ) that many cars (mostly Caterham and Lotus) were fitted with yokohamas Advan 032 and 048, Toyo Proxes R888 and even T1R (which sounds the best compromise for track/road use in all weather conditions).

Don't mind to change size/profile as long it can cope with the t-slots and the car without ajustments...

Christian,

Thanks for the link. It was great to look at all the pictures. There were some gorgeous machines there. I was wondering why you were only thinking of changing tires and not the wheels as well. Now I know; your T-slot wheels look amazing.

Chris Zappa runs (ran?) Shaved Toyo R888 on his racer.

Have a look at this thread - http://www.corner-carvers.com/forums/showthread.ph...
