Which Exhaust Cats, and some questions
Discussion
Just found out that my Tuscan has had the exhaust cats removed at sometime in its life (no wonder its loud)
Now the questions are
Will it fail MOT without cats? (recent TVR power rebuild)
Is it worth making decat pipes and fitting cats for MOT? (I hate fiddling with stuff under the car)
If I put cats back which ones?
The car is a November 2000 mk1 Tuscan.
My search brings up these two products

Big price difference between the two and the cheapest one is the one my car fits with in age terms. Dealers are quoting me circa £400 per cat which matches the other ones on the link.
Confused!

Mine will not get through the test without cats, even though it has a Power decat chip fitted, so unless you have a friendly tester you may struggle. Depending how much you want to spend I'd either fit proper sports cats or buy some cheap (c.130 quid each) ebay cats and just put them back in for the test. I've taken the latter route.

Apparently I have the TVR power chip. So I will buy some cheap cats, and get the ramps out once a yearAs your car is pre-2001 you do not need to buy type-approved cats.
I would personally go for the cheap ones on ebay for £135 each unless you have a spare £600 for a pair of type approved
