Manufacturer warranty when serviced elsewhere?

Im fed up with the Nissan main dealer here in Swindon and the one I was going to change to in Cirencester seems to have lost the dealership. The nearest to me then is about an hours drive, so to keep within the manufacturers warranty can I get another non-franchised dealer to carry out the work?

Sure I've read somehere that as long as genuine parts are used then its not a problem.

To maintain the warranty you will need to have it serviced by a VAT registered garage using genuine Nissan parts.
