Gear knob temperature

Is it normal for the gear knob to get hot whilst driving? i know there is a lot of heat coming from the exhaust and gear box engine etc

Mine gets ridiculously hot lol

Warm.

Comfortably warm in the winter.

Uncomfortably warm in the summer though.

i just just had my cats removed and decats put in so will see how that one goes, and yes can get very home. i'll probably have the gear location branded into my palm.
