Guys & Gals,

When looking at F355s there seem to be an awful lot that seem to be missing a panel on the right hand side of the engine bay - see the first advert & picture of it missing & a second advert with it being there.

Was there a specific spec or time that is was deleted or are they getting lost for some strange reason (heat dissipation? easier access etc?)

They are often removed by dealers as the jump start points are under that panel, it seems some forget to refit them, they were fitted to all models

Not only dealers, alot of.owners keep them of for jump starting the car. The 355 can drain a battery in a matter of weeks when not used.
Usualy on ebay there is always right hand panels for sale after the ex owners find the in there gararges/atics.

Have you asked this before or am I suffering a bad case of deja vu?

I seem to recall that question being asked and the same original photo being used...

Sorry to jump onto this post but what products would you use to get your engine bay looking like it does in the second picture?

Yea lots of owners take them off to jump start the car. I've only ever had to jump start mine once, after not using it for about 2 months and I've never got round to putting the panel back in. I'll do it as soon as I get some spare time.

As said above, the panel on the RHS covers the access points for jump starting the car.
Aside form making the engine bay look slightly tidier, the only thing those covers do (that I can discern) is stop water from getting onto the coil packs.

Thread hijack - your 355 sounded suitably ASBO worthy in Knightsbridge this morning Andrew (it was me on the bike that said 'ello) - keep up the good work wink
