Vehicle Tracking

Can anyone recommend a good vehicle tracking system. I currently have a Tracker fitted but the anual fee has gone up by 50%

Not sure they are worth it. When the cars from the factory were stolen they left them on the hard shoulder as they stuck out like a sore thumbs.

They have a thatchem imoblizer so although it could be got round if someone tried to play with the electrics you know it wouldn't start. lol

its to keep the insurance happy rather than me. Not sure I would want the car back after some little s%*t had thrashed it!

you didnt mention the premium however, tracker.co.uk have annual fes of £135 or £350 for term of ownership.

never activated me tracker.... not exactly sure of legality but if you car was stolen the police could ask them to turn it on even if you didnt subscribe?

Howerer almost certain if the car was stolen the police wouldnt have been interested at all.

One thing I do every six months is call them and ask if they can see my car, because once when we were working on it we moved it without starting it and it didn't register, it wasn't working.

They were very embarrassed but I think it happens a lot.

Called Tracker and they told me they had made a mistake with the renewal quote! Should still be £90 for a year.

My insurance company have never been interested in the fact that mine has one fitted. And it was again not bothered about my last car either.

With the last car I had with a Tracker, insurers were not prepared to give any discount whether I had it turned on or not, so I didn't and saved some cash on the (Tracker) renewal

Tracker does work

While coming back from hoilday late at night i went over something in the road at some road works at about 50mph which lifted one of the back wheels off the ground.

When i got home there was a message on my answer phone saying vehicle alert
and could i phone them asap which i did they gave me the exact time that it was triggered from this i worked out that i was on the M3 at the time.

Just must change the phone number to my mobile in future.

Same here, No financial benefit to having it activated.

But mine deffo worked, I lifted the car up onto some supports at work work one day.
My mobile then rang and I was asked if I was with my car as the tracker had been activated, I was quite impressed as it was only 8" off the ground but they knew about it.

Which tracker model do you have I currently pay £135.

Its a Retrieve. It states on my insurance documents that I have a tracker fitted. To be honest my premium is so low its worth keeping the tracker.
