Newly acquired Maserati 3200GTA
Discussion
G'day everyone,
I'm a brand new member and new owner of a 2000 Maserati 3200GTA. I live in Perth, Australia and have been luck enough to find a mint 3200 with 46,000 kms on the clock owned by a collector in special order Ferrari "Rosso Corse" paint.
I've only ever really owned German cars up to nw and my current other drive is a 1990 Porsche Carrera 4 which I dearly love but which is modified to the point of being a little too hard core now for a daily drive... hence the 3200.
I have to admit to some trepidation having read on numerous forums about some of the unique "charms" of Italian exotica as my 911 has been like a Swiss watch for the time I've owned it. no doubt I'll be looking for advice and insight from other owners on the forum. I've been a long time member of REnnlist and found it absolutely invaluable for info on my Porsche.
The Maserati scene here in Australia is pretty quiet with no active clubs and only a few good indie shops that specialize in Ferrari/Maserati. I'm still trying to find a knowledgeable mechanic in Perth so if there are any other members here who can recommend one it would be appreciated.

The car is currently on a train from Melbourne so I have a little wait before I can get it out on the road. I've spent most of the last couple of weeks researching service intervals, price of spare parts, weak points on the car etc and I think I have a pretty good idea of what to expect. I went for an auto as it's going to be a daily driver and I wanted something more relaxing than the 911 for long drives.
If anyone out there has access to workshop manuals it would be most appreciated. I found a set on eBay.uk but they were hard copy and the shipping to Australia was over $100!! If anyone could share a soft copy, I would be grateful.
Regards,
Neil

Welcome to pistonheads and good choice of daily drive, 2000, red, auto (goes and checks garage to make sure mines still there).
I'll send you a link for the manauals shortly. Have a look at the search facility on here, theres plenty of info already posted.
From memory (of supplying manuals) there's a few Aus 3200 owners on here, you can search members by car make/model to give you a start on who's around.

Many thanks!! I've just been trawling through old posts and the came across the "sensitive" topic of manuals so my grateful thanks.
I've been able to do a lot of work on my 911 with the help of far more talented forum members and I'm hoping to be able to get similarly involved with my Maserati. For me it's part of the bonding process.
Regards,
Neil
