How many BHP does a Renualt derived "Sport" badge add?
Discussion
Seen these badges crudely stuck on everything from old Alfas to Zafiras....

Really what is the point? I mean an AMG/M3 badge you think... Fair enough it isn't. But at least they like to pretend they have a Fast car. But a f
king sport badge?
How f
king low are your aspirations in life that you like pretending to have a the bottom of the range car with a spoiler and alloys? Afterall thats typically "sport" models are outside of Renault...
I don't get it.

A friend of mine has an Audi A3 "Sport" The biggest misuse of a badge ever.
115bhp 1600cc 2005 model which is an utterly boring crappy s
t overpriced waste of space.
Do people who buy these cars actually think they are sporty in any way??
He bought it for using up and down the motorway for good MPG. Turns out it cant even do that properly as its revvinig its nuts off at 80MPH with only 1000 revs to the red line!!
Needless to say its up for sale.
Anyone want to buy a nice Audi A3 Sport?

Pointless badging is daft, but I guess you've not driven a RenaultSport model lately ? Quick, decent handling cars, not just a badge. I can understand why the kids might want to aspire to that, even if they do own a base model something or other.
No issue with the renaultsport brand. Friends had Clio Cup 172/182s and they were rapid if a little fragile. The problem is you don't generally see them on Renualts. It's when it's on a sodding Volvo I wonder what they are thinking.
I must admit I stuck one of these on the back of my '98 1.4 phase I Megane when I had it about 8 years ago. Didn't half make it shift, though;)
I saw it in the local Tesco car park a few weeks ago and it's still there
Also, doesn't look like it's been washed since sold it about 5 yrs ago.
Old cars are like old girlfriends, you always retain a feeling of ownership when you see them with their new owners/boyfriends
My current Laguna has a much more subtle GT175 badge on it as standard. Fortunately, it also has reasonable pace to match;)
