Who just P/ex'd a silver 4.5?

Someone just today chipped in their lovely looking 4.5 for a Merc at a dealer in West Sussex. I was there looking over a 530d M and he pulled in with the Cerb.
Well it put me completely off my stride and had me comparing sensible diesel wafty Germanic automatic saloons to growly non-sensible British super GT. You only live once I was telling myself within about a milli-second of being told that the dealer would be putting it up for around 10k!
I wa completely clear in my mind that the Beemer was what I wanted after 4 weeks of dithering. Now I'm all indecisive again!

Right, curiosity got the better of me and I went and had a look/drive this morning. In 6 1/2 years of Cerb ownership, this is only the second Cerb I've ever driven.
Bear in mind over the years I have spent quite a bit getting my car 'a goodun'. Also, I'm no mechanical expert and any buyer should get it inspected, as said.
Car had to be jump started as it had sat since Saturday. Not a brilliant start
Paintwork is fair to good for a 12 year old car. Some parking chips, and some stone chips on the front, but overall not bad. Some kerbing on the wheels, but certainly no worse than mine.
The car has half leather (mine if full leather) and the plasticy bits look plasitcy (notably the dash), but I guess no different from other half leather ones? That said, the leather bits seemed to be in good condition. The seats themselves seemed to be thicker/plumper than mine, but for some reason not as comfortable. Generally the interior seemed fine, if a little dated?
Car has the purple pipes that have seen better days. It actually ran sweetly up to 6,500 rpm, then it seemed to hit a flat spot. I'm guessing short induction and a remap would cure this. I'm pretty sure it doesnt have the full compliment of horses as it wasnt as quick/zingy as my car. The clutch felt heavy compared to mine, but it worked, albeit with the occasional notchy gear change (although this could be attributed to this car not having the Leven pedal extensions and me being a short arse?).
The suspension felt a little squishy, but then again I am comparing to my INTRAX.
8 previous owners, most recent only had it 2 months. Apparently the wife hated it and made him swap it for a CLK AMG. Tons of paperwork up to 2007 (servicing from everyone from Joospeed to TVR Centre and lots of indies in between, and all/most previous MOTs/V5 slips/tax discs). Last service invoice @ 54k miles, car currently showing 69k, although the guy said it has been serviced since, but the garage didn't have any paperwork. 10 months MOT on it. Car was originally supplied new by James Agger. Didnt see anything about a rebuild (only flicked through the papers) but engined sounded/felt OK.
Photo evidence of a recent (in the last 2 years?) body off chassis restoration by a TVR indie (didn't see the invoice, as I said, only flicked through the papers). Looks to have a fairly recent exhaust.
So, probably needs remap/short induction and possibly new suspension. Someone capable might even consider a retrim (apart from seats)?
The really bad thing about this car is that I have the funds (although Mrs Fubes would kill me) and I am sorely tempted to buy it and put it in the garage over the winter
