Ex-Chief Constable Fined for Speeding

By Sam Marsden, PA News

A former Chief Constable of Devon and Cornwall Police has been fined for speeding, it emerged today.

Sir John Evans, 60, appeared last Friday at Exeter Magistrates’ Court for driving with excess speed.

Sir John, who was knighted in the Millennium Honours List, retired from the force in 2002.

He is a former president of the Association of Chief Police Officers, and in February was appointed as the Football Association’s security adviser.

As a heinous criminal that the likes of Brunstrom would like to hound, should he be relieved of his knighthood and put in the village stocks for a day or two?

'tis MIGHTILY funny.

however, one should not laugh at the discomfort of such a distinguished former senior police officer.

i wonder if he will write to his MP to have the speed limits and scamera policy reviewed?

As the Government says "...speeding is a serious criminal offence".
Strip him of his Knighthood.

Even Homer couldn't manage a 13 year old choirboy!

Interestingly one of the most bizarre disciplinary actions in my section was someone who said to a co-worker

'I wouldn't half like to dry b** f*** you'

note - I was neither party.

Usually we just have fist fights, so it made a refreshing change
