2007 330d Touring Bluetooth help

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me. I have bluetooth fitted in my car but can't seem to get it working. I know these use an optic fibre cable, anyway when you pull the N/S panel away in the boot (where the emergency triangle is kept) I have a loose cable that blinks a red light at the end so was wondering if I am missing somthing and if so what? I know its not the bluetooth unit itself as that is located under the boot carpet and that is present.

Any help would be great
