Looking at buying my 1st Noble

Hi all,

I'm currently looking to buy my first Noble (M12 GTO 2.5)

Is there anything that I should be looking out for?

Hi Steve, best advice I could give is to buy from the classifields, and from someone who has had the car for sometime. This one caught my eye

Although cat "c" damaged it looks like its had alot of useful upgrades, like exhaust and intercooler. That alone would set you back at least 2K. Price is a bit high for a repaired (remember for these cars it doesn't take alot to make them cat c) so go in low, save some money and keep some ready for when it may be needed BOL

If its a 2.5 you want then it must have the following or expect big bills (I know cause I've gone through it all).

1. LSD and not the std Open diff. Some people will say they still have the Open Diff but more go than survive.
2. ECU upgraded to after market or MBE
3. TDS (track Day Sump) not essential but good to find one with it.
4. Fan upgrade with cowling. Not to expensive to do so don't let it be a stopper

Think thats about it.

That would be my car then. Was thinking of putting it on the market but then got Sarah to drive it past me flat out today then changed my mind LOL. Try to get one of the guys on here to give you a test drive so you Know what to expect.Hope your car is all sorted Bondy.

Its all coming together, have most of the parts just waiting on some block modifications and then it all goes back together. Better and stronger. lol

I thought that too. I am looking at buying my first Noble from a friend of mine who has had it for several years. It has had the upgrades (not sure about diff) and looks almost exactly like that blue one...except it has done 9,800 miles!

Not sure if there's any point buying it before the winter though?

Would you go for a 3R or stick with the lighter, less powerful GTO 2?

Depends on which one you prefer to drive.

I know people who love their GTO's because they are purer and prefer that engines characteristics.

I am only an armchair fan - there are far more qualified people on this forum to answer that question in much more helpful ways

Yes have seen that one on PH and it does look good.

Don't like the position of the rear number plate though, although that can be moved.

Also looking to use as my everyday car. I only do about 9,000 miles per year and it doesn't do any car good sitting in a garage.

For shopping trips and the like we can use my wifes car

The link that SJC gave you looks like a much better buy.

However the castle sports car one has the oil temp/pressure gauge and very rare leather seats in a 2.5. If the gauge has been done then a lot of other bits may also have been done. not many in that colour either.
