2001 BMW 330i SE Touring - New addition to the stable!

Well, a few months ago the Passat daily went back to the company after I got a promotion that was office based. After running the MX5 as a daily I started looking for a replacement - having had a few E46's in the past, I had always promised myself a 330i if I had another, so started looking in earnest...
Intending to buy a late, low mileage one, I was offered this early '51 plated, 130k car at a price too good to miss! So much for the 50k '54 plate I was looking for!
In direct contrast to the leafy countryside I got the MX5 pictures in (See profile), I thought I would find a nice boarded up industrial estate and try something different! Excuse the quality of the pics, but i'm not much of a photographer.
Hope you like, any comments, both good and bad welcomed!
Orient Blue, 2001 BMW 330i SE Touring with black leather comfort seats, and the rather boring silver dash trim (Anyone want to sell me Maple inserts or some other pale faux tree inserts?) - with the all important (To me!) manual gearbox - 130,000 miles but full service history, sitting on a lovely set of style 68 wheels. Just had a full set of Bilstein shocks all round, new droplinks and some Pagid discs/pads - sharpened it up a treat!

Thanks! I would heartily recommend them - having had two previous E46's (One touring, one saloon) it's the best by far - practical and quick! Averages 26mpg round town and mid 30's on a run, but can show a clean pair of heels to most things. Like you said they are great value now and there are some lovely cars for very sensible money - I was originally going to spend twice what I paid for this one, but I was bowled over by it - the pictures don't do it justice! Lot's of history, both fully stamped up and interim receipted items. Hope you get one!

These are nice cars. I agree that you need a bit of wood on the dash - I'm not keen on the silver insert. The darker Myrtle wood looks decent on the 3 series too. I wonder if you could buy a wood set from one of the breakers.
Would love to get hold of some light myrtle - everything on fleabay seems to be either the very dark wood (Which I think would be too dark) or the 'cube' effect from the Sport model - which I personally don't like! Ah well, I'll just keep hunting! Luke. said:

Pretty good thanks! Just come back from a 1500 mile round trip in it over Christmas to visit family in France, car is fantastic, engine note is stunning! It is easily the best engine to have in the E46 and even the fuel consumption isn't too horrendous! Test driving one Sunday.
Enjoy the test drive Sunday, one thing I would say is make sure it pulls cleanly in Second, any indicated stutter will be one of the CPS (Cam position sensors) which they seem prone to 'eating'!
