I've just bought a home cimema system which has a radio with it. The radio is pretty good but tonight the signal has started getting a bit hissy at times, moving the approx 1m wire aerial that came with it helps, but I don't fancy doing this much.

Is there a simple wire aerial I can make to add to it, if so how? just extend the current wire? or is there more to it? I know they're only a few ££ to buy, but they are away in the shops and I have lots of bits of various wire sitting around not doing anything.

Its a specific length to match the frequency band so just making it longer dosent do much unless of course you do it in multiples, quaters, halfs etc.. can be tricky, its usualy easier to buy one off the shelf.

If the Radio has a proper antenna input then try connecting it to the TV aerial outlet/cable, this should give you a good signal.

That only works if an FM aerial is Diplexed into the TV feed, otherwise your just picking up a flukey harmonic.
