Hi All

Well after spending awhile looking at various sports cars I slightly impulsively ought myself a TVR S2.

I am well chuffed and thoroughly enjoyed the drive home (that noise :-D) and I didn't even mind when the car wet itself when I pulled up at home - coolant coming out the overflow due to it overheating.

I bought the car cheap as it does need some work doing so onto my first question - should an S2 have an Airbox as standard ir should it just have a fitler fitted straight onto the afm?? Any photos would be good.

Cheers

Andy

Don't panic - it may simply have been overfilled to start with.

Have fun,
Graham

Air filters (x2) straight on the air flow meters is correct.

Welcome by the way - the car looks pretty tidy in the pic.

Or one big filter across the two afu's with a quarter turn fastener to open and remove it and the breather pipe from the oil filler cap connected into the side of it.

This is the standard air filter setup. Only difference is this is an S3CD so doesn't have air flow meters but the filter setup is identical:

Hi and welcome...

two things...

1 - the incontinence may be due to the caps on the swirl tank and expansion tank being on the wrong way around. Mine did what you say when the fixed seal was put on the swirl tank... I reversed them and have had no repeat of this problem... :stands back and waits for opposing views smiley: (there is a difference of opinion on this as you will read...)

2 - when you get your new pipercross C3004 filter, dont poke a hole in the side of it to take the breather pipe and allow it to spray oily mist over the sensors in your AFM's - put a breather filter direct on the oil filler cap instead.

like this:

good luck and enjoy

K wink

I'll start lol, do this if you want mine was steaming a little so i gave it a go it was way way worse I lost practically all my coolent swapped back and mew rad fan fuse and it's back to perfect. Not sure how Ks works these are TVRs afterall but be careful if you try.

Oh and check the fuse first the system doesn't need to be too far over temp to start steaming.

Cheers D s3
